DOSIS WEB - LIVE CODING & HARDWARE HACKING
Dosis Web is an open-source web platform for live coding that connects code, sound, visuals, and physical devices in real time. By integrating Live Coding with hardware hacking, it extends algorithmic performance beyond the screen and into the physical world.
Through a web-based interface, Dosis Web allows performers to write and modify code while simultaneously controlling Arduino-based devices such as motors, LEDs, sensors, relays, servomotors, and other actuators. These devices can be transformed into kinetic sculptures, sound instruments, and interactive machines that become part of the performance.
Dosis Web explores the creative possibilities that emerge when digital code and physical matter become part of the same artistic process. Instead of treating hardware as a simple peripheral controlled by software, the platform considers machines as active elements within the creative process. Their movements, sounds, physical properties, and responses become materials for improvisation and experimentation.
The platform also connects with audiovisual live coding environments, enabling performers to combine physical machines with real-time sound and visual generation. In this way, code can simultaneously produce images, sounds, movements, and physical actions, creating expanded audiovisual performances where software, hardware, performers, and space interact continuously.
Dosis Web is also conceived as an open and collaborative environment for experimentation, learning, and artistic research. It encourages users to build, modify, repurpose, and create their own instruments and machines, exploring the relationships between thought, code, and matter through practice, experimentation, and error.
Access the Dosis Web platform here. To use the platform, connect an Arduino board running Firmata Standard.
