Heartbeats of Light is an interactive installation that merges art, technology, and biometrics into an immersive experience where the human heartbeat becomes a visual and sensory language. From a single pulse, the entire space resonates, transforming an intimate, biological signal into a shared luminous atmosphere.

The artwork is activated when the participant places their finger on a MAX30105 biometric sensor, designed to detect variations in heart rate in real time. The captured information is processed by an Arduino-based system, which translates each pulse into luminous sequences reproduced on WS2812B-64 LED arrays integrated into 3D-printed lamps. These structures, with their abstract and organic forms, evoke the anatomy and movement of the heart, becoming bodies of light that beat in sync.

The installation consists of a network of luminous sculptures wirelessly interconnected via Bluetooth modules, accompanied by interactive visuals that react in real time to the signal from a single biometric sensor. The participant's heartbeat transforms into a sensory and luminous landscape that expands throughout the space, where each sculpture and projection responds in sync with the same heart rate.

Each pulse triggers a collective reaction: flashes, variations in intensity, and dynamic visual compositions that transform the heartbeat into an immersive and enveloping experience. In this way, the biological signal transcends the body to inhabit the environment, generating a vibrant atmosphere where light, technology, and emotion beat in unison.

Beyond its technical dimension, Heartbeats of Light explores the relationship between body, presence, and environment. The heart ceases to be merely an invisible organ and becomes a force capable of modifying space and affecting the perception of those who inhabit it. The installation transforms a profoundly personal experience into a shared phenomenon, where light acts as an extension of the body and a vehicle for emotional connection.

In this work, technology functions as a poetic bridge between the biological and the digital: a sensitive system that amplifies a human heartbeat, transforming it into a collective experience of light, rhythm, and contemplation.
